Have you been shopping online more frequently since quarantine? Before spending more money on new clothes, give your old clothes a second look. Going through your closet can be a process, but you never know what you might find. Here are six ways to shop from your closet.
Organize Your Clothes
If you haven’t gone through your closet yet during quarantine, you still have time. Organize your closet so you know what you have, want to keep or give away. Especially if your closet and drawers are full, it’ll be nice to declutter and have more room to see what you own.
Redefine Your Closet
If you want to make your closet more presentable, organize it in a way that fits your style. For me, I have clear shoe boxes and containers for my clothes and accessories so I know where everything is. I also use matte black hangers because I like the look of it. Others like using rolling racks, garment bins or shelf organizers to display their pieces.
Fix Damages
If you immediately toss something out of your closet because it’s damaged, check first to see if it can be fixed. There are so many tutorials out there that can teach you how to remove a stain or fix a rip.
Build Outfits
Fall is here, so get creative and start putting outfits together. Don’t put those summer dresses away just yet. Instead, layer them up with a sweater, tights and boots. Especially with basics, you can wear those in so many ways. Go through your clothes and see what can be mixed and matched.
Get Some Inspo
From Instagram to Pinterest, you’ll be able to find styling ideas. From the items you have, you’ll see there are many ways to wear them. You might be surprised by what outfits other people put together that you never tried on with your stuff.
Give or Donate Unwanted Clothes
If you end up with a pile of items you don’t want, don’t toss them in the trash. Instead, ask your friends if they might want them or donate them. Donating your items does good for the planet and gives your clothes a new home.
Shopping from your closet will save you money and help the environment. Rediscover your items, create new outfits and make your old clothes feel brand new.
