We’ve done a lot of things to simplify our life. Some have been big changes, while others have been small, but overall helped us live a better life. We understand a simple lifestyle isn’t for everyone. The choices we’ve made aren’t a priority in someone else’s life, and we totally get that. Live the life you want to live! We just want to share what’s worked for us, and maybe somewhere down this list, you’ll find something that’ll simplify your life.
Put Yourself First – First and foremost, put yourself first. This isn’t selfish; it’s necessary.
Have A Morning Routine – Your mornings set the tone for the day, so have a morning routine that will help you ease into the day ahead.
Be Organized – Be organized by planning out your week. If you’re like us and take it day-by-day, write your to-do list the night before so you can prepare for the next day and know what needs to get done.
Meal Prep – Plan your meals so you’re not scrambling the kitchen on what to eat or what groceries to buy. Having your meals already prepared will be a huge help when you’re rushing to leave for work or if you’re too tired or lazy to cook.
Declutter Your Home – Get rid of things you don’t need anymore by going through each room, drawer, cupboard, and shelf. This will help keep your house tidy, create more space, and make it easier to clean. (Same goes for decluttering your car.)
Keep Your House Clean – After decluttering, try to keep your house clean. When you’re done using something, put it back to its spot right away so your home doesn’t slowly start to clutter up.
Get Rid of Unwanted Clothes – Giveaway, donate or sell clothes you don’t want anymore. You’ll have more space in your closet to know what you own, and it’ll be easier to put outfits together.
Map Out Your Finances – Do this monthly or even weekly, if you have to. This will help your finances be organized and keep you from overspending.
Be Intentional With Your Time – Be intentional about how you spend your time each day. However you like to spend your time being productive, resting, or enjoying your day, don’t waste time on things that don’t matter to you.
Learn To Say No – Learn to say no to things and people who will add more things to your plate that aren’t worth your time and energy.
Keep Meaningful Relationships – Same goes with your relationships. Invest your time and energy in the people that are important to you.
Take Care of Your Body – Incorporate healthy meals and exercises into your lifestyle.
Be Kind To Yourself – Our thoughts affect us so when you’re feeling low, remember to be kind to yourself.
Have An Evening Routine – How we spend our evenings and nights sets our mood before bedtime and can affect our sleeping patterns. Make time to relax and unwind before bed, and as we mentioned, prepare for the next day.
Be Realistic – On your dreams, goals, and priorities, be realistic on how to reach your expectations and focus on your priorities.
