We all know how good it feels to treat ourselves, that sometimes we can lose track of how much money we’ve spent. Treating yourself on a budget keeps you from going overboard on your spending. You don’t need a reason to treat yourself, so we created a list of some ways you can treat yourself on a budget.
Self-Care Ideas
Watch your favorite show or movie – Get comfy and enjoy your favorite show, movie, or catch-up on the latest shows. Enjoy with a friend or some good company.
Spend time with your hobbies – do what you love and get lost in it whether you’re good at it or not.
Journal – keep yourself in check by writing out your thoughts, goals, and gratitude.
Declutter – some find this more pleasurable than others, but decluttering helps clear our mind and space.
Light a candle – Lighting a candle does more than making your home smell good. It does wonders bringing you to a soothing, relaxing mood. Sometimes it can even raise motivation.
Take a shower – refresh yourself, and wash all your troubles away.
Read a book – unplug from technology and read that book you’ve been meaning to get to or finish.
Indulge in Good Food
Make a cup of tea or coffee – The simple act of sipping your favorite tea or coffee can bring you joy.
Make your favorite comfort dish – nurture your body and mood by making your favorite meal.
Order from your favorite restaurant or cafe – some days we have no energy or time to make our food or drinks, so if you do order from your favorite restaurant or cafe, stay on budget.
Be Kind to Your Body
Exercise – go for a walk, run, or have a workout or yoga session through YouTube. Whichever way you prefer to exercise, do it even if it’s for fifteen or thirty minutes.
Get Some Vitamin D – as much as some of us have gotten used to coupling up at home- sunlight is a great way to get your body to produce vitamin D. The mood-boosting vitamin can also be consumed: in milk, egg yolk, and fatty fish.
Do nothing – you deserve to let your body and mind rest. Being present is enough.
Have a Spa Day at Home
Put on a face mask – chill out and put a face mask on. Watch your favorite movie or show, vibe to your favorite music, meditate, or journal in the meantime.
Paint your nails – skip the nail salon and save money by doing your nails yourself.
Do your skincare routine – freshen up your skin with your favorite skincare products. Everyone loves a glow-up.
Practice your hair or makeup skills – for many, doing our makeup and hair can be therapeutic. If not, it is still a huge confidence boost to mess around and update your everyday makeup looks or hairstyles.
